Biography
James N. O’Toole is a founding member of Smith O’Toole & Brooke, PLLC. He has served as a trusted legal advisor for a wide variety of legal matters since 1995 serving both business and individuals in their time of need from the boardroom to the courtroom and everywhere in between. Mr. O’Toole prides himself on taking the time to fully understand his client’s needs and formulating an effective plan to accomplish the client’s goals.
After graduating from Wayne State University Law School, Mr. O’Toole was immersed in the highly competitive automotive supplier battlefield from his first days as an attorney. Providing legal counsel to manufacturers, machine tool builders and sales and marketing companies gave Mr. O’Toole a well-rounded understanding of the diverse needs of different businesses. Including the purchase and sale of a business, contract drafting and negotiation, litigation and succession planning.
Mr. O’Toole clients have included businesses large and small, and individuals rich and poor. Over the last 25 years Mr. O’Toole has had the privilege of representing over a thousand individuals in their time of need for litigation, family law, estate planning, employment law or white collar criminal matters.
